Dr Blaine McCracken

Blaine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and worked as a small animal vet in country Victoria and a charity hospital while completing a Master of Veterinary Studies and attained Membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons. Blaine returned to the University of Melbourne to complete a residency in Small Animal Surgery, including a second Master of Veterinary Studies and a Master of Veterinary Science. Blaine also attained a Graduate Certificate in University Education while at the University.Since finishing his residency, Blaine has worked as a referral surgeon in Perth, England and Brisbane before returning to Melbourne to work at Southpaws.Blaine has interests in minimally invasive surgery, clinical teaching, skin reconstruction, feline surgery, oncological (cancer) surgery and orthopaedics. Outside of work, Blaine enjoys music and dabbling in learning languages, though he is yet to master any other than English.
