Leah graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and then spent 4 years working in general practice in the Northern Territory and Ballarat. She then completed a rotating internship at the University of Sydney in 2014, and attained Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine in the same year.
Leah then spent 10 months volunteering in Malaysian Borneo while completing a Masters in Conservation Medicine. On her return to Mebourne, she joined the Animal Emergency Centre to pursue her passion in Emergency and Critical Care. In 2020 Leah completed a 3 year residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the Veterinary Referral Hospital and plans to sit her Fellowship exams in 2022. Leah’s clinical interests include transfusion medicine, endocrine emergencies and sepsis. Leah lives with her partner, their Dalmatian; Chayce, and two cats; Puddy and Tully. In her spare time, Leah plays soccer and participates in triathlons, and she enjoys SCUBA diving and exploring new restaurants and craft breweries.
