The role:

Join the passionate team at Southpaws as we expand our 24-hour dedicated emergency pet hospital in Malvern East. We recognise that emergencies don’t adhere to a schedule, and that’s why we’re eager to welcome skilled Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Veterinarians to our dynamic team.

Our emergency hospital is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring that our ECC Veterinarians have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the critical moments of a pet’s life.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a recent graduate eager to dive into ECC, we invite all passionate veterinarians to join our dynamic team.

We have a commitment and the structures to ensure our team members continue to advance their clinical skills and understanding, as well as benefit from exposure to our specialist facilities, technology, procedures and training.

  • 50% Days and 50% Nights
  • 1:3 weekend overnights
  • Achieve great work-life balance in a structured role that supports personal and professional development
  • Rostered training time with senior time/day shifts working with exposure to our specialist teams
  • Bi-weekly didactic sessions including Journal club, presentations and lectures
  • $150k p.a. plus Super for MANZCVS holders or MANZCVS eligible clinicians
  • Time and financial support for MANZCVS enrolment and examination if required
  • 4 Weeks A/L plus 1 Week Study Leave
  • $1500 CE allowance
